Photo Contest Rules

Timeline:
This is a monthly contest; entries should be taken on the First Sunday BridgeWalk and submitted using the form on our website by the third Sunday of the month. Winners will be announced on bridgewalkcc.com prior to the next month’s walk.

Content:
Photographs taken of or from the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge, of people on the BridgeWalk, or of subjects spotted whilst on the BridgeWalk (e.g. a tanker passing under the bridge)

Eligibility:
Photographers of any age – except for individuals who are full-time employees of the CCDMD or CCCVB – are eligible to enter. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest.

Submission:
Please submit digital photos (up to 2MB in size) in .jpg .png or .gif format online at www.bridgewalkcc.com/monthly-photo-contest‎. We cannot accept photographs submitted through the mail on disk. You may submit up to 2 photos each month, using the entry form on our website, but you will need to complete a separate form for each photo submitted.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure verbal permission from the subject. In the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian must give written permission. Written consent must be provided to the CCDMD/CCCVB upon request. Any photo that can not provide written consent will be removed from the contest.

Submissions may not contain material that, in the sole discretion of CCDMD/CCCVB, violate or infringe another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including copyright, are not eligible. [This means, photos that you submit must have been taken by you, among other things.]

Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers are not eligible.

Judging:
The winning photograph will be chosen by a panel of judges to include the BridgeWalk webmaster and at least one other photographer / artist. All desicions are final.

Use & Reuse of Contest Content:
You will still retain the right to publish your work in other media and to further transfer rights to this work to other parties. By submitting a photo you agree that the submission is an original photograph and you agree to these terms and conditions.

By submitting a photo, you agree to give CCDMD/CCCVB non-exclusive rights to reproduce your work to be used and reproduced in our publications, on our Web sites, or in any other CCDMD/CCCVB marketing and media projects in all media in perpetuity. Contest entries may be selected to appear in our print and online publications and marketing initiatives.

You may make fair use of this photo contest content as defined by fair use copyright law. Please note that you are responsible for determining whether your use is fair and for responding to any claims that may arise from your use. If you choose to reuse any of these photos for non-commercial purposes, please observe the following terms:

* Credit the photographer and source and specify that any subsequent reuse must also credit the photographer and source

* Cite and link to, when possible, the BridgeWalkcc.com website as the source.

Deadline:
All entries must be received online by 12 noon on the 3rd Sunday of each month, Central Time (“CST”). The CCDMD’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest. If for any reason a contestant’s entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, contestant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Contest during the Contest Period.

Prizes:
CCDMD/CCCVB reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to award a substitute prize of equal or greater value if a prize described in these Official Rules is unavailable or cannot be awarded, in whole or in part, for any reason. CCDMD/CCCVB makes no representation or warranty concerning the appearance, safety or performance of any prize awarded. Restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. CCDMD/CCCVB will not replace any lost or stolen Prizes. No prize transfer, assignment or substitution by Winners permitted.
